Woman Arrested in Hospital Ground Burglary, Assault Case

A 26-year-old St. Croix woman has been arrested in connection with a June burglary and assault in the Hospital Ground residential area, according to the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Police said the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a disturbance at approximately 1:47 a.m. on June 23. Responding officers met with the complainant, who alleged that Zyann Calixte had forcefully entered his residence and assaulted him.

The case was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau. According to investigators, Calixte allegedly assaulted the victim with the assistance of a co-conspirator.

A Superior Court judge signed an arrest warrant for Calixte on July 2 and set bail at $75,000.

VIPD officers executed the warrant on July 6. Police said Calixte was advised of her Miranda rights, arrested on a charge of first-degree burglary and assault-related offenses, booked, and was unable to post bail. She was remanded to the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending her Advice of Rights hearing.

The police department did not identify the alleged co-conspirator or indicate whether additional arrests are anticipated.
