The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) program is administered by the U.S. Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority (USVIEDA) to support small business growth and improve access to capital across the territory.

Through this initiative, SBC Consulting is providing one-on-one professional advisory support and educational workshops to assist small businesses throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands. These services give entrepreneurs direct access to experienced small business professionals who provide practical, relatable guidance and flexible support to help navigate financial, legal, and credit-related challenges that can impact business growth and access to funding.

Participating businesses may receive assistance with:

  • Bookkeeping and accounting guidance
  • Financial planning and cash flow management
  • Loan and funding readiness preparation
  • Credit guidance and strategies to strengthen credit profiles
  • Legal guidance for business structure and compliance
  • Strategic advisory support for business growth

Many small businesses face barriers to accessing capital due to gaps in financial systems, credit readiness, or access to professional guidance. This program helps entrepreneurs better understand their financial position, strengthen their credit readiness, and prepare their businesses for funding opportunities.

โ€œMany entrepreneurs simply need access to a small business professional who understands the real challenges of building and growing a business,โ€ said Christy Dudgeon, President of SBC Consulting. โ€œThrough the SSBCI program, small business owners will connect directly with SBC Consultants who provide practical, relatable guidance and flexible support. Our team is here to help businesses strengthen their financial systems, improve funding readiness, and overcome common barriers to growth, all at no cost.โ€

The program is designed to support businesses at all stages, including early-stage entrepreneurs, established businesses seeking stronger financial management systems, and companies preparing for expansion or capital opportunities.
