Robert Matthias Dies at 51

Robert Matthias was born on Aug. 25, 1974, and peacefully transitioned from this life on Feb. 16, 2026. He will be remembered for his warm spirit, kindness, and the lasting impact he made on all who knew and loved him.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory of his loving mother, Nolda Matthias; his father, Mitchell Matthias; and his stepfather, Ludolph P. Roberts. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Michelle Huggins.

He leaves behind cherished aunts: Yevonne Pilgrim, Lorraine Gilead, Vernarose McKenzie, Maria Sheridan, and Maggy Sheridan. His memory will continue through his beloved nieces, Amayrah Huggins and Aโ€™kaylah Huggins, and nephews, Everad Huggins Jr. and Jahmal Sheridan.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his cousins: Marva Gilead, Kimberly Nanton, Elemena John, Saieda Nanton, Allicia McKenzie, Jessie McKenzie, Travis McKenzie, and Coreen Tongue.


He also leaves many special friends who became family: Elvira, Pamela, Grace, Patrick, Heather, Brenda, Hazel, Bobby, Edgar, Aloma, Mervette, Latoya, Eugene & Family, Lizett & Family, Mr. Arthur, Aley, Nicey, James, Coreen, and Yabo, along with many other relatives and friends whose lives he touched throughout his journey.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Robert Matthias will be held on March 6, at Divine Chapel, 129 Peters Rest, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, beginning at 10 a.m.

Robertโ€™s love, laughter, and memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
