Moot Court Planning Committee’s “Trunk or Treat” Scholarship Fundraiser

Mango Tango art gallery and All Media Focus have teamed up to host the third annual trunk or treat scholarship fundraiser, with the proceeds benefiting the Virgin Islands Bar Foundation’s Moot Court Competition.

Each year the competition awards $12,500 in scholarships to participating high school students and provides a significant opportunity to develop and advance public speaking and advocacy skills and promote the study of law. Those wishing to learn more about the competition can visit:

The Trunk or Treat will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at Mango Tango art gallery, located on Raphune Hill (above Paint Depot) on St. Thomas.

Top Notch will be performing live, so bring your dancing shoes. Additionally, there will be free facepainting, an arts and crafts table, and taco bar catered by Cutlass and Cane restaurant. Donated prizes from our valuable sponsors will be raffled and auctioned throughout the evening.

Admission is free and open to the community. The EventBrite link: Trunk or Treat Fundraiser for Moot

Court Tickets, Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. | Eventbrite

There is a Best Decorated Trunk contest in the theme of the “Day of the Dead” for anyone wishing to compete or for those who just enjoy Halloween. The best decorated trunk wins its choice of a 16”x20” print on canvas by the artist Shari Ericksson, a $250 value. There is a $5 donation (which goes to scholarships) to enter.

Mango Tango, Moot Court’s annual sponsor, is hosting the event along with its art show, the Art of Frida Kahlo, with a special Trunk or Treat for the children, making this a family event to start up the holiday season. Mango Tango art gallery is the premiere art gallery in the Caribbean with a 36 year history exemplifying the true flavors and visuals of the local island artists. Gallery owner Jane Coombes has been at the helm of Mango Tango Art Gallery since its inception in 1988.
