On the Go Physio, a concierge physical therapy practice, has opened its first office on St. Thomas.

Located along Perimeter Road, just behind the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital, On the Go Physio offers a range of services, including neurological rehab, orthopedic recovery, pelvic floor therapy, aquatic therapy, and cardiovascular training.
Christine McAllister, the 29-year-old visionary behind On the Go Physio, graduated from Ithaca College in 2019 with her doctorate in physical therapy. After the completion of her studies, she moved back to the Virgin Islands, where she began an internship that subsequently turned into a full-time position at a local practice. While McAllister enjoyed working alongside other professionals in her field, she craved time flexibility and knew that entrepreneurship was what she truly dreamed of. “ I love my home so much. I am a seventh generation Virgin Islander and coming back to share my expertise felt like the right thing to do,” McAllister said.
“When the pandemic hit, I knew that there were people who needed critical physical therapy services but were also concerned about the transmission of the COVID virus. After seeing an ad on FB for mobile physical therapy services in the States, I felt inspired. I knew this business model could work here and I could fill a huge gap in the industry. There are people who can’t leave their homes due to mobility issues. There are people who can’t even traverse their homes due to staircases and accessibility challenges. Offering these mobile services gives clients a layer of support that is crucial to recovery and regaining muscle function,” McAllister continued.
McAllister began offering mobile services in 2021 and has continued to expand services and payment options over time. The latest expansion, in collaboration with Dr. Jeffery Chase, has led to the opening of her first brick-and-mortar practice, where she can host visiting specialists who can offer therapy services to the community.
“The ease and speed in which everything has happened tells me that this is where I am supposed to be and what I am supposed to be doing. Being in service to my community fills me up and I look forward to continuing my efforts in offering accessible and dignified care to my community,” McAllister said.
