
Gertalin Althia Sheen Bølling died on Aug. 26. She was 100 years old.
She is survived by her daughters: Scharlyn Bølling Harewood, Janise Bølling James and Deana M. Bølling; son, Ejnar R. Bølling Jr.; grandchildren: Genea Harewood, Jerroll Harewood, Anthony J. James, Laurise Oliver, Dr. Jasmine Bølling, Adriana, Dania, Jelana, Charles Jr. and Carl Bølling; great-grandchildren: Brittney Seymour, Tyese and Walter Jr. Edmonds, Olivia Jones, Anthony and Ava James, Simone Stockton, A’Kaijah, A’Lijah and A’Zaijah Cammie, A’Kairah Christopher and O’Knaiyah Williams; and nephew, Ewin Harris.
She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Doris Bølling; son-in-law, Dr. Charles L. Harewood; godchildren: Edwin James, Sharon Sergent, Arleen Evans O’Reilly, Colette Woods Burgess, Carlos Trotman, Tasha Cochrane, Dane Trotman, Tricia Thomas, Verdel Petersen, Gladstone Johnson and Joy Harvey; and special friends: Egerton Trotman, Ada Heath, Gerda James and family, Jane Bølling, Grace Walcott Henry, Marie Christian, Everne Rhymer, Rowena Browne, the Friedensthal Moravian Church family, Winifred Phaire, Colette Burgess and Yolanda Dowdell.
Other survivors include additional relatives and cousins: the Knight family, Mercedes Petersen and family, Casmore Charles, Josephine Hector, Pauline Begraff, Raymond “Bobby” James, Doreen Chesterfield and Yolanda Pemberton, the Sheen family and the Bølling family, Lawrence Sarauw and family, Ruth Barnes Hansen and family, Shirley Barnes Jacobs and family, the Clarke family, Rafael Llanos Jr., Dianna Washington, the Powell family, the Williams family, (St. Claire, Jean, Ruth, James) the Gardines family and the Richards family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Tributes and viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service on Friday, Sept. 13, at Freidensthal Moravian Church, Christiansted. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery. Tributes may be sent to ms.oliver@hotmail.com by Sept. 9.
