The Department of Planning and Natural Resources announces that a meeting of the St. Croix Committee of the Virgin Islands Coastal Zone Management Commission (CZM) has been scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27. The meetings will be held via video conferencing platform Microsoft Teams.
Items on the agenda include the Decision Meeting for the Major Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Permit No. CZMJL0010-23- Hibiscus Beach Hotel, LLC (HBH). The applicant has amended the original project scope to address the public concerns raised at the public hearing. The amended proposal is available for review on DPNR’s site: www.dpnr.vi.gov.
The applicant proposes to construct and develop a boutique beachside hotel and amenities normally associated with a hotel, construct a new bar, gymnasium, restaurant and pool, replenish the beach, expand the greenspace footprint, improve the stormwater drainage onsite and the immediate area by installing underground stormwater drains, and create additional parking. The proposed project is located on Plots 108-EB, EC, and ED, 47-AA, 109 C, D, E, S, T, and R Estate LaGrande Princess, St. Croix, USVI.
