Ruth Veronica Jeremiah Barton, also known as “Ms. B” or “Ruthie” passed away June 29 in Hackensack, N.J. She was born on Jan. 15, 1944.
Ms. Barton was preceded in death by her husband, Ickford R. Barton.
She is survived by her sons: Ricky Barton, Dion Barton, Ickford Barton Jr., Bruce Barton, Yancy Barton and Lionel Barton; daughters: Janet Barton-St. Rose, Cinthia Barton and Hyacinth Barton; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Ms. Barton worked at the VI Legislature in the Custodial Division from August 1992 and retired in January of 2009 as the assistant custodial supervisor.
Ms. Barton’s favorite color was yellow.
Funeral services for Ruth V. Jeremiah Barton will take place on July 27 at the St. John Anglican Church in Christiansted, St. Croix. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. and the service will begin promptly at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
