New V.I. Veterans State ID Now Available

A Veterans Day parade on St. John

The Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs (VA) notifies veterans that a new State Veteran ID is now available at its St. Thomas and St. Croix offices between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Veterans having the old ID are free to get a new one.

Previously, veterans were only able to obtain an ID every other month due to the only ID card machine the VA had being moved between districts. Now, there is an ID card machine in each district that will be available daily. State Veteran IDs can be used for identification purposes in most but not all cases. The IDs can also be used to obtain discount at participating vendors.

In addition, the V.I. Office of Veterans Affairs is in the process of encouraging vendors to join other vendors across the territory that are providing discounts for veterans that have a State Veteran I.D. Any vendors interested in providing discount at any level, please make contact with the Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs in their district.

For further information, call the V.I. Office of Veterans Affairs in either district at 773-8387 or 774-8387.
