Cedric Ansel, 30, was arrested by police Friday on St. Thomas and charged with second-degree assault–domestic violence, the V.I Police Department said.
Ansel’s girlfriend told police he physically assaulted her and her minor daughter. Ansel avoided police capture for several weeks before tracked down and arrested.
The charge stems from an April 25 call to police to investigate a domestic disturbance on Domini Gade. The victim told police she and her boyfriend, Ansel, got into an argument that turned physical.
Ansel allegedly picked up the victim and threw her and punched her several times. When the victim’s minor daughter tried to intervene, Ansel pushed her and twisted her arm, the woman told police. When the daughter called 911, Ansel fled the area, the victim said.
Ansel was arrested a few minutes before 3 p.m. Friday. He was held without bail pending further court action, according to the Domestic Violence laws.
