The School of Visual Arts & Careers (SVAC) is recruiting high school students in grades 9 to 12 for its 2012 – 2013 after-school program.
Students will receive training in artistic techniques, explore art-related careers and develop a portfolio for college entrance or professional employment. Instructors and guest artists will expose students to a variety of mediums and approaches to creating art.
SVAC was established in 1983; many of its graduates have gone on to major in art-related fields in college or are working in careers in the arts.
This non-profit program is located on Main Street and is funded in part through grants from the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts, local contributors and corporate donations.
For more information about the program and to obtain an application packet, contact Edie Johnson at 344-4369.
