SUCCEED Calls Meeting for Phase II

St. Croix Unified for Community, Culture, Environment and Economic Development (SUCCEED) calls together the 70 participants of the Saturday, May 12, Community Brain Trust Planning session and all interested parties to a follow-up session from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, at the Curriculum Center. The excellent and innovative suggestions that were given have been organized and will be presented to the community for prioritizing and creating additional mandates for SUCCEED. The areas of accommodations, culinary/personal services, education, events/recreation, farming/light manufacturing and historic preservation were deliberated, and policy, technical assistance and financing barriers were identified. STXAHEAD is utilizing the intellect and vision of the community to develop a consensus blueprint of businesses that we, the residents of St. Croix, would like to see developed on the island.
When this preliminary blueprint for heritage and economic development is completed, it will be distributedas a reference document for EDA’s expanded small business incubator initiative, SBDC, the Department of Tourism, the Hotel and Tourism Association, and government planning purposes, and will be used , primarily, in SUCCEED’s pursuit of funds to develop heritage and culture-based business initiatives.
Engage in a process to move St. Croix ahead. Light refreshments will be served.
