The V.I. Water and Power Authority will interrupt electrical service from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday on feeders 7B and 9B to improve service for the Cancer Center.
Power will be out for that hour in a small section of Estate Thomas, Ross Estate, Poly Berg, Barbel Plaza, McDonalds and Banco Popular, according to the utility.
Power will be interrupted to isolate an existing 15 kilovolt switch in preparation to upgrade and install a new automated auto transfer switch across from the Cancer Center. This switch will enhance the reliability of the distribution system in the area and allow for high-speed feeder switching for the Cancer Center.
WAPA is urging the motoring public to obey all traffic signs and use extreme caution when traveling in the areas where power will be interrupted.
