What's Up Next on the Doug Lewis Show

Feb. 20, 2007 – Tune into the Doug Lewis Show on WVGN 107.3 FM from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 25. This Sunday we will feature music by Art Garfunkel, Spicewood Seven, the Holmes Brothers, A.C. Reed, Sara Hickman and more.
The Modern Music Feature CD is Art Garfunkel's "Some Enchanted Evening." Garfunkel has always had a beautiful voice, which has sometimes been described as angelic, and he puts his vocal prowess to great use on this CD of great standards.
The Indie Spotlight CD is "Kakistocracy" by Texas band Spicewood Seven, which combines alternative country with lyrics of social commentary.
We play new music from the Infamous Stringdusters, Coco Montoya, Buddy Guy and more.
We also include music from the Holmes Brothers, Buddy Holly, Jonathon Edwards, and more.
We celebrate the birthdays of George Harrison and Ralph Stanley, and remember blues sax man A.C. Reed, zydeco great Rockin Sidney, and Toy Caldwell of the Marshall Tucker Band on the anniversary of their deaths.
We include music from the Grandsons, who will be touring in the Virgin Islands from mid-February to the end of the month, and from Dick Solberg, who is performing in the Virgin Islands. We play music from Sara Hickman, who will be performing at Tillett Gardens on St. Thomas on March 14. We also include music from the Billy Gibson Band, who will be playing at this year's St. John Blues Festival.
We give you a chance to win a new CD release from Smithsonian Folkways titled "Friends of Old Time Music" as well as CDs from blues artist Floyd Dixon and a blues sampler from Big City Rhythm and Blues.
Doug Lewis Show is underwritten by Hook, Line and Sinker; Molly Molones; and St. Thomas Radiology Associates.
