PARK TO REOPEN SATURDAY

After closing the park due to Hurricane Lenny, R.W. Jenkins, incident commander for the V.I. National Park, announced Friday the park will be completely open for normal operations by Saturday morning.
All park facilities will remain closed Friday, according to a release from the park service. People visiting the park before it opens are urged to exercise extreme caution.
In addition to sea surge and debris in the water, there will be no life guards on duty Friday.
Until the Department of Planning and Natural Resources conducts water tests, swimmers are asked to also consider the possibility of contamination.
The public is urged to continue to monitor St. John Source and local radio stations for updates.
