SCHOLARSHIPS FOR URBAN FORESTRY CONFERENCE

The St. Croix Environmental Association announces scholarships available for the 5th Annual Caribbean Urban Forestry Conference.
SEA is accepting applications from arborists, landscapers, municipal planners, architects and other involved urban forestry industries who reside on St. Thomas, St. John or Water Island and who wish to attend the conference, to be held on St. Croix at the Divi Carina Bay Hotel and Casino, May 22-25.
Scholarship funds are to reimburse travel costs up to $500 and will be awarded on a competitive basis.
"We see this as an opportunity for those who would like to make a difference in how trees are cared for in the Virgin Islands to learn what is being done in other parts of the Caribbean and the United States," said Carol Cramer-Burke, SEA’s V.I. Releaf coordinator.
For more information call 340.773.1989 or email sea@viaccess.net. Funding for the scholarship is provided by the U.S. Forest Service.
