UVI's Humanities Festival Week continues
Festival activities continue through Sunday, April 7. Details on other festival events are available on the 40th Anniversary Calendar on the UVI web site, and in the Source local news article "Festival is a week's immersion in the humanities".
Join the UVI Carnival Troupe
Now is the time to join UVI's 2002 Carnival Troupe. Practices continue every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 4:30 p.m. in the Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas Campus. For details call 693-1200 or 693-1541 on St. Thomas, or 692-4234 on St. Croix.
Career Explorations Day Set in St. Croix
A career explorations day for students and other interested persons is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the Melvin Evans Center on the St. Croix Campus. Representatives from some 18 Virgin Islands businesses will be available to speak with prospective employees about internships, volunteer positions and full- and part-time jobs.
Special presentations are planned by management consultant Nila Sinha of CareerWay.com, a web-based career development company. The first presentation, designed for UVI faculty and staff, as well as community educators and counselors, will be held at 12:30 p.m. in Computer Lab Room 133. The second session, designed for UVI students, is scheduled at 4 p.m. in Computer Lab Room 133.
April 5 was the deadline for reserving space in one of Ms. Sinha's presentations. To reserve, or for career day information, contact Miriam Osborne-Elliott at 692-4187.
Tickets On Sale for "Knock 'em Dead"
Tickets are on sale now for the UVI Theatre's production of "Knock 'em Dead," which will run from April 12-15 at the St. Thomas campus' Little Theatre. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students, and are available on the St. Thomas Campus at the Bookstore and the Humanities Building, and in Charlotte Amalie at Dockside Bookstore and Nisky Pharmacy.
