Oct. 3, 2002 After Mickey Mouse and several Disney Magic crew members visited the children at the Queen Louise Home in 2001, the crew members decided to bring more than entertainment to the children.
Crew members have been collecting their spare change for the past few months, and will soon be sending a check for $2,210 to the children's home.
Crew members chose the charity, which provides services for abused and neglected children, as part of the Disney Cruise Line Adopt-An-Agency program. The cruise line matches the funds collected by crew members.
The program was established to directly benefit organizations in the cruise ships' ports of call, with a focus on supporting agencies and programs that have children or the environment as beneficiaries.
