POLICE MUST SHOW SERIOUSNESS TO EARN SUPPORT

Dear Source:
I was well pleased to read that the Governor had fired Mr. Christian. I have been proposing a massive governmental reorganization for several years, beginning with the removal of the Police, Education, and Tourism commissioners and their flunkies, since these are without doubt the most underperforming of the government. The crime situation is horrendous. The new commissioner must institute community based patrolling, quality of life programs, juvenile prevention/intervention programs, and strict enforcement of the laws. We need to stop the crimes before they are committed as much as we can. When the public sees that the department is serious about crime, then they will support it. As it stands now, it appears the public are taking their chances with the criminals. Tells you something about the department.
