UNIDENTIFIED MAN KILLED IN CONTANT

May 6, 2004 — An unidentified black male was shot to death about 10:51 p.m. Wednesday in the Contant area, police said Thursday.
Sgt. Thomas Hannah, Police spokesman, said in responding to 911 calls of several gunshots in the area, police discovered the man's body slumped over in the parking lot of Cartech Imports and NAPA Auto Supply.
The man, whose age has not been determined, died at the scene of several gunshot wounds to his chest. No identification was found on the individual.
"We are currently investigating who the individual is and will send out a release after notifying next of kin," Hannah said.
Hannah said the police had no witnesses to the crime and no suspects thus far. This is the 7th homicide in St. Thomas and the 14th in the territory for the year so far.
