Traffic Flow Restricted During J'ouvert Tramp

Jan. 4, 2006 — Parking restrictions and street closings are scheduled for Frederiksted to accommodate the Crucian Christmas Festival J'ouvert Tramp, which is scheduled to start at 5 a.m. Thursday.
The tramp will begin on Centerline Road (Route 70), at the corner of Hannah's Rest and proceed on Fisher and King streets, ending at the entrance to the Festival Village.
The V.I. Police Department has announced the following parking restrictions and street closings. They will be effective at 3 a.m. Thursday and continue through the completion of the event.
— No parking on Centerline Road from the Hannah's Rest Corner to the Frederiksted Post Office.
— No parking on Fisher Street from the Post Office to the intersection of King Street.
— No parking on King Street from the intersection of Fisher Street to the intersection of La Grange Road.
— Any vehicle found parked in the restricted areas will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner's expense.
— No vehicular traffic will be allowed on the tramp route starting at 4 a.m. and continuing through the completion of the event.
— No bottles, sticks, rods, canes, or any object which may constitute a weapon will be allowed in the tramp.
