A 77-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence following a two-vehicle collision on Queen Mary Highway near Amigo’s Service Station, the Virgin Islands Police Department reported.
The incident occurred around 8:14 p.m. on April 25, while an officer was en route to a separate service call. Upon arriving at the crash scene, the officer interviewed both drivers and observed that one of them — identified as Alfred Oscar — exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and difficulty standing unassisted, according to the police report.
Oscar admitted to consuming alcohol, according to the report. A field sobriety test was conducted and he failed. He was then arrested for driving under the influence.
Oscar provided his driver’s license in lieu of bail, police said.
