St. Croix Man Faces Domestic Violence Charges After Damaging Property

Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance call Saturday involving a St. Croix man damaging a woman’s screen door and taking her iPad so she could not contact 911, the V.I. Police Department reported.

Around 5:45 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a domestic disturbance at Carib Villas Apartments. When the officers arrived, they spoke to the victim, who reported that Shamall Turnbull Sr., 39, had come to her apartment and caused a disturbance. He became enraged and damaged her screen door, and also took her iPad preventing her from calling 911. The victim ran to a neighbor for help and called 911, the police report stated.

Turnbull Sr. was arrested and charged with destruction to property, DV. No bail was set in this matter. Turnbull Sr. was booked and subsequently transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing, the report stated.
