USVI Department of Tourism Highlights Luxury Travel at Aspen Food & Wine Classic

The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism made a significant impact at the annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Col., emphasizing the territory’s commitment to the luxury travel market. The event, hosted by Dot Dash Meredith’s Food & Wine Magazine, attracted over 4,000 attendees, including high-profile guests like former NBA star Channing Frye and James Beard Award Winner Gregory Gourdet. The USVI delegation, featuring chefs Digby Stridiron and Kerish Robles, showcased modern takes on regional classics such as johnny cakes, pates, conch water and fungi.

Commissioner of Tourism Joseph Boschulte said, “The U.S. Virgin Islands is committed to being a top destination for luxury travelers. Our world-class resorts and exceptional culinary offerings make the Virgin Islands a must-visit for those participating in the tasting pavilion, the USVI served as the official sponsor of the prestigious Top of the Rock party, where cultural dancers and Moko Jumbies tantalized attendees with the Aspen Mountain as the pristine backdrop.

“As we continue to expand our target markets and demographics, it’s important to showcase the breadth of the Virgin Islands culture,” said Assistant Commissioner Henneman. “This year, with our charm and top-notch culinary fare, we have solidified the territory as a viable culinary destination for high-value travelers seeking the best in hospitality and dining.”

The Virgin Islands is prioritizing the luxury market, offering unparalleled experiences at premier properties like Lovango Resort & Beach Club, The Pink Palm, The Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef, and Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort at Frenchman’s Reef. These add to the luxury collection that includes The Buccaneer Resort on St. Croix and the Ritz Carlton on St. Thomas.
