The V.I. Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) reminds the community that the Division of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) invites artists to create and submit ocean-inspired artwork for the territories’ first VI Coral Reef Week (CRW), scheduled for June 29 through July 5.

“We invite community members and artists of all mediums and all ages to explore the connection between the ocean and Crucian heritage. From paintings to sculptures, photographs to digital art, every medium is a canvas to showcase the beauty and significance of coral reefs. Artistic creations will not only highlight the natural wonders of the sea but also contribute to the awareness and appreciation of the Virgin Islands’ precious marine ecosystems.

Art will be displayed at the CRW Kickoff Event at Levels from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on June 29, followed by additional viewing at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts from 9 am to 4 p.m., July 2 through July 6.

Submissions must be received by 5 p.m., June 21, at one of the following locations:

East End Marine Park Office 5005 Estate Great Pond Christiansted, VI 0082

Department of Planning and Natural Resources 45 Mars Hill DPNR Coastal Zone Management Office Frederiksted, VI 00840.

Up to three submissions per person will be accepted until space is filled.
