Hubert Patrice Dies

Hubert Patrice

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Hubert Patrice on Feb. 13, on St. Thomas. Hubert, fondly known as “Pharrell,” was born on Nov. 3, 1942, in Pointe Michel, Dominica.

He is survived by his children: Desmond Patrice, Desiree Patrice, Corinthia Cornelius, Anna Marie Patrice, Philbert Patrice, Tarima Patrice, Hubert Patrice Jr. and Juliette Patrice (deceased).

He was also a loving brother to Julia Benn, Juliana Lewis, Cynthia Patrice-Henry, Georgiana Lewis, Patricia Lewis, Sonny Patrice, Joel Lewis and Joseph Philbert, and predeceased by Patsy Patrice, Aubrey Philbert and Raymond Patrice; a grandfather to 14; and an uncle, cousin and friend to too many to mention.
Pharrell was a creative and talented builder/ carpenter and loved sports, playing and watching cricket, and experiencing the world. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and was an avid motorcycle rider during his youth. A thoughtful and humble man, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to others.
Hubert will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, his love of life and his generous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 29, at Celestial Chapel of Dan Hurley Home for Funerals.

Instead of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dan Hurley Home for Funerals and Cremation Centers of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix.
