Alvin O’Neal Mc Bean Dies at 85

Alvin O’Neal Mc Bean

Alvin O’Neal Mc Bean died on Jan. 31 at the age of 85.

He is survived by his wife, Olga Mc Bean; daughter, Sarina Mc Bean; grandsons: Tori O’Neal Mc Bean-Swan (Siobhan), Jaiden and Gabriel Harrigan; great-grandsons: Tye and Thane Mc Bean Swan; sisters: Marion (Goldie) Smith (Henry) and Muriel (Betty) Rymer (Michael) and Patrice Raymond; brothers: Aubrey (Buntin) Raymond (Erie), and Melvin Mc Bean; and adopted grandchildren: Yesivette Declet Marrero, Keishlynn, Kelsey and Nicholas Swan.

He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Julia Rodriguez (Juan), Irma Santos, Eugenia Santos and Sylvette McBean; special nieces: Jessica Rodriguez, Yesenia Marrero and Dorcia E. Brown; special friends: Lorna Webster, Dolores Velazquez, Ahimsa Browne, Sonya Swan, Rose Christian, Hugo Hodge Sr.; as well as many other nephews, nieces and friends too numerous to mention.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be given in Alvin Mc Bean’s memory to Holy Family Catholic Church toward the fence project.

Tributes will begin at 9:30 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Holy Family Catholic Church.  Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery in Smith Bay.

Professional services have been entrusted to Turnbull’s Funeral Home and Crematory Services.
