Second Suspect in Havensight Shooting Incident Arrested

Police arrested the second suspect in connection with the October shooting in Havensight, St. Thomas that took the life of 31-year-old Cursim Hansen, the Virgin Islands Police Department reported Thursday.

On Tuesday, Suzan N. Asad was arrested under an arrest warrant that was issued by the Magistrate of the United States Virgin Islands. This arrest was made in connection to the Oct. 21 shooting incident in the Havensight area. Bail was set to $125,000 by order of the court pending her advice of rights hearing, according to the police report.

On Oct. 21, citizens contacted 911, reporting several shots fired and a man down in the area of Havensight Pier, the police report stated.

Responding officers arrived on the scene and observed an unresponsive Black male
lying in the parking lot with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds about his
body, the report stated.

Emergency Medical Technicians also arrived on the scene and checked the man for
vitals. However, they concluded that the man did not have any signs of life, it said.
