Junior Emanuel Clendinen Dies

Junior Emanuel Clendinen

Junior Emanuel Clendinen, also known as “Junie,” “Chaha” and “Cherrynose,” of John F. Kennedy Housing died on March 9.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Clendinen; brothers: Marvin Ryan and Alberto (Cat, Tony) and Antonio Rivera; grandparents: Miriam (Miri) Hendricks and Emile Robinson; and uncles: Herbert James and Alfredo (Fredo) Emile Robinson.

He is survived by his spouse/companion: Betty Edwards; mother, Doreen E. Robinson; daughter,  Nattisha Richardson; sons: Emanuel (Meni) Clendinen, Junior Clendinen, Leon Richardson and Jahbai Richardson (Fla.); grandchildren: Jahkira Clendinen, Camila Clendinen, Jahmoi Clendinen, Emani Clendinen, Elisha Henry, Leonise Richardson, Levon Richardson, Jakaylah Richardson and Jalessah Richardson; sisters: Eileen Ryan-Williams (N.Y.), Helen Ryan (N.Y.) and Lenora Clendinen (N.Y.); brothers: Victor (Jerry) Simon (N.Y.), Kevin (Cachete) Simon (N.Y.) and Roy Clendinen (N.Y.); and nieces: Helena Brown (Calif.), Acura Simon (Penn.) and Tiffany Williams (N.Y.).

He is also survived by nephews: Alberto Antonio (Tony), Rivera Jr. (Penn.), Kenneth (Kenny) Williams Jr. (NY), Tyreek Williams (N.Y.) and Hakeem Giscombe (N.Y.); great nieces: Sonora Brown (Calif.) and Ashlynn-Piper Giscombe Pimentel (N.Y.); great-nephews: Kamar Emilio Forrester Jr. (Calif.), Neeko Antonio Rivera (Penn.) and Carlito Rivera (Penn.); aunt, Hulda R. Durant; and cousins: Walter Durant, Marvin Durant (Fla.), Michael Durant, Craig Durant, Kimberly Durant, Y. Elizabeth Robinson (Fla.), Gary (Bally) Michael Barnes (Fla.), Ozzie Thomas (Fla.), Askari Thomas (Fla.), Aski Thomas (Fla.), Nailah Thomas (Fla.), Amaris Thomas (Fla.), Pure Barnes (Fla.), Gilbert Hendricks, Sherry Hendricks, Annette Hendricks, Shawny Hendricks, Mira Hendricks and Dr. Olaf “Bronco” Hendricks.

Other survivors include more relatives: Clendinen, Hendricks, Peterson, Robinson, Graham, Canton and Walcott families; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Beep) Williams (N.Y.); godson: Clinton Phipps (N.Y.); godbrothers: Luz James and Woodstock; and special friends: the Grahams, the O’Reillys, Sarah Harvey and family, the Edwards family, Maria Sanes, Junior (Buddox) Phipps, Debbie Cartier, Chillin Guzman, Valerie (Val) and Mrs. Sarah Harvey; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, at Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
