Man Shot to Death Sunday Afternoon in Estate Catherine’s Hope on STX

Two men driving a dark maroon SUV reportedly shot and killed a man at a residence in Estate Catherine’s Hope in Christiansted, according to the V.I. Police Department.

The victim was identified as Bomani K. Christian, age not reported. He was the 22nd homicide victim on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, according to the Source homicide list*, the 42nd in the territory.

According to the police, at 2:28 p.m. Nov. 1, officers responded to a reported gunshot victim at a residence in Catherine’s Hope, Christiansted.

At the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive male who was shot in the back. Emergency medical technicians on the scene concluded the man, later identified as Christian, had no signs of life.

The investigation into this incident revealed Christian was assaulted by two, unidentified, Black males who left the area in a dark maroon SUV.

The VIPD urged anyone with information that can help resolve the case to call police at 911, the Crime Tip Line at 340-778-4950 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).

St. Croix District Chief of Police Sidney Elskoe condemned this incident.

“As a community, we cannot allow this to keep happening,” he said. “If you know who did this do the right thing and let us know so we can bring these individuals to justice.”
