Gunmen Rob Havensight Jewelry Store

Two masked gunmen raided a Havensight jewelry store in the middle of the morning Wednesday and made off with an unknown number of gold chains before fleeing, the V.I. Police Department said.

WICO security officers reported that no vendors or customers were hurt during the incident.

“The brazen activity was captured on the closed-circuit camera system, recordings of which have been turned over to the Virgin Islands Police Department, who, along with WICO security officials, responded swiftly and professionally after the incident,” the West Indian Co. Ltd. reported.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at about 10:07 a.m. Wednesday, the 911 emergency call center was notified of a robbery that occurred at the Glitters Jewelry Store, located in Havensight.

Store employees told officers that two masked men rushed into the store, both armed with guns. The men jumped over the counter and one held the employees at gunpoint while the other man grabbed an unknown number of gold chains that were hanging on the wall behind the counter. The men then fled.

VIPD called on community assistance to find the perpetrators. Police urged anyone with information to contact 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5608 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477. Tips called into Crime Stoppers that result in a case being resolved may qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.
