The Alexander Farrelly Justice Complex and adjacent federal complex were temporarily evacuated early Wednesday afternoon due to a reported propane leak. Around 1:30 to 3 p.m., traffic was backed up on both ends of Charlotte Amalie and Veterans Drive was closed to traffic.

Prisoners in orange jumpsuits who had been evacuated from the jail were seen lining up by the Legislature.

Police, Fire Service personnel and other first responders redirected traffic during the incident.

As of 3:15 p.m., traffic had returned to normal.
