Positive Guidance 15U Basketball Team Earns 2nd Place in P.R.

The Positive Guidance 15-and-Under (15U) team recently competed in the Puerto Rico Shootout International Basketball Tournament and earned second place in its age group. The team finished with an overall record of 4-1 and placed second in a field that included seven teams. The tournament was held in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, from July 17-21.

The 15U team came in first place in Pool B with wins over Aibonito (48-43), LIBO (47-42) and Juncos LIBAJU (38-34). After moving on to the knockout rounds, Positive Guidance won its semifinal game against LIBO (47-42) but lost a tough and physical contest to Cariduros in the championship game by a score of 57-53.

The members of the team are: Emmanuel George, Khaleed Heywood, Ahjadyn Key, Khalil Lockhart, Keinan McFarlande, Chad Molloy, Toolie Mulley, Ky’Shawn Parris, Ira Petersen and Maliq Richards. The team was coached by Jose Gonzalez and Robert Molloy.

The Positive Guidance Youth Club is a youth-based certified 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides a safe, fun, healthy and competitive environment for youths between the ages of 4 to 18 years within the St. Croix community.
