Hyacinth Camille Daniel Dies at 72

Hyacinth Camille Daniel

Hyacinth Camille Daniel, also known as Hyacinth Weatherill and affectionately called “Hya” or “Binga” of Peter’s Rest, St. Croix, died on Tuesday, Jan. 29. She was 72 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percival Daniel; mother, Iris Charles Cage; father, John Carr: and brother, Allan Gomes.

She is survived by her brothers: Winston Carr, Collie Garnder, Wardley and Ingram Carr; sister, Merle Richards; aunt, Fernella “Chris” Daniel; aunts-in-law: Geraldine and Melba Charles; uncle, Charles Simon; and nieces: Kimmie Simon-Lee, Michelle Sebastian-Simon, Ocia Richards-Gumbs, Coreen, Noreen and Kereem Joshua, Denesia and Laila Gardner, Alaina and Yoletty Gomes, Michelle, Malika and Lisa Carr.

She is also survived by nephews: Elton Terry, Lindsey McDonald, Vernon Joshua, Marlon Carr, Jyle Gardner, Kalid, Chet, Mitch and Cody Gomes; special cousins: Lisa and Linda Charles, Lydia DeFour and Tyrique Evans, Curleta Henry, Violet, Calvin, Felix, Denvil and Henville Simon, Klevelle, Irose, Ester, Freeston and Angela Drayton, Pauline White and Janice Thomas; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, at the Peter’s Rest Seventh-day Adventist Church, St. Croix. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
