Mark Anthony Christian Dies at 73

Mark Anthony Christian, also known as “Markie,” “Magistrate” or “Drummer,” of Estate Whim died on Jan. 9. He was 73 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Lucille Adams Christian; father, Peter Alphonso Christian; daughter, Adrena A. Christian; and brothers: Alan and Denzil Christian.

He is survived by his spouse, Dorene Richardson Christian; daughters: Imagene Christian-Mallory, Andrea L. Christian-Michel, Aretha Phipps and Tarissa Christian; sons: Seen Williams and Mark D. Francis; grandchildren: Anetra Christian, Jay Francis, Terell Harris, Anastacio III and Ismael Carino, David V. Mallory III, Aaron Phipps, Aniyah Webb, Zaynah, Zairah and Jakeba Williams; great-grandchildren: J’Nayssha, J’Nari, J’Eovonne, Dejwan Markieth and Masiyah Mansa; sister, Ernestine L. Christian-Snype; and brothers: Clifford, Melvin and Anthony Christian.

He is also survived by nieces: Lorie, Esther, Evanthe, Linda, Lisa (Christian-Jones), Lorna, Christine, Indolicia, Denise, Joy, Leah, Cleone, Cristina, Karen, Carol, Jamila, Janella, Lisa, Samira, Tahesha, Zakiya, Akiya and Dalila; nephews: Peter, Christopher, Shane, Wayne, Clyve, Carlos, DeWayne, Dalani, Nathan, OJ Jamile and Marlon; great nieces and nephews: too numerous to mention; aunt, Ann E. Abramson; sons-in-law: David V. Mallory Jr. and Alexander Michel; brothers-in-law: Frank, Mario and Harroldo Richardson; sisters-in-law: Mary and Gaynell Richards;

The viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m. and the funeral service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
