Raymond E. Christopher Dies at 68

Raymond E. Christopher

Raymond E. Christopher of Estate Carlton died on Dec. 19, 2018. He was 68 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leola Abel Franklin.

He is survived by his father, Etheldred Christopher Sr.; stepmother, Chrystalia Christopher; son, George Christopher; sisters: Sharon Payne, Almeade Williams and Sr. Audrey Abel; brothers: John Christopher, Carl Christopher (NswNeb KaRa Herishetapaheru), Etheldred Christopher Jr., Dr. George A. Franklin and John Franklin; and nieces: Cyd Stevens, Cindy Grubber, Candace W. Franklin, Kaivailya Christopher, Salaama Christopher-Holder, Makera, Kisha, Shakima, Tvonnae and Amaria Christopher, Anumaat Davis Kahina and AnutMeri D. Kahina Christopher.

He is also survived by nephews: Etheldred III, Amobi, Roy Jr., Jamal, Kareem, Anwar and Akeru Christopher, Anubi, Anua, Anuka and Anuptah Davis Kahina, Thomas Marius, Abassi Franklin, Clyde Stevens, Chris and Clarence Jarvis; aunt, Lena Schulterbrandt; uncles: Lloyd and Oneal Abel; special friends: Yvonne Giddings-St. Louis, Dureama Moorehead and Louise Arnold Clarke; and goddaughter, Pamela Clarke Finley.

Other survivors include cousins and other relatives: Ralph James Sr., Craig, Bojo, Brian, Rodger and Derwin Wells, Shelton, Steward and Nicole Schulterbrandt, Yvette Bennerson and Shikila Pitts, Arol and Aron Abel, Aliya Abel-Heyliger, Stephanie and Yvonne Abel, Rexford Joseph, Kevin Sr., Keven Jr., and Ronaldo, Rolando, Lynn Naejah, Jah’kim, Jahsiah and Worrel Payne, Ralph Jr., Hugh, Rael, Ral’Nessa, Desiree, Jordon, Austin, Rashard and Christopher James, Kinel Stevens and N’Kray Benjamin; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, at James Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
