Roland L. Moolenaar Sr. Dies at 65

Roland L. Moolenaar Sr.

Roland L. Moolenaar Sr., also known as “Toba” and “Brother,” of Green Street, Christiansted, died on Dec. 19, 2018. He was 65 years old.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessica Tutien Moolenaar; father, Halvar Leanzo Moolenaar; siblings: Florence, Kenneth, Ralph, Hugo and Karen; son, Gregory Moolenaar; and niece, Monica.

He is survived by his companion, Claudette; sons: Roland Jr., Jonathan, Joshua, Russell and Jabari; daughters: Natricia Moolenaar and Tricia Crawley; brothers: Oneal and Miguel Angel; sisters: Brenda, Ingrid, Rosalind, Marla, Roxanne, Magda-Alena, Marilyn, Evelyn and Joyce; uncle, Fritz Tutien; daughter-in-law, Lydia Moolenaar Esq.; son-in-law, Christopher Crawley Sr.; brothers-in-law: Tony and John; sisters-in-law: Elaine, Alicia and Juanita; and grandchildren: Yazmine, Julissa and Marcus Moolenaar, Christopher Crawley Jr., Zierra Kesharra Moolenaar and D’mar.

He is also survived by nieces: Charisma, Narcisse, Nia, Shima, Brenicia, Magda, Lalerah, Keisha, Aida, Lizette, Monisha, Natasha, Jeanelle, Wanda, Charisse, Michele and Beatrice; nephews: Malek, James, Elroy, Leroy, Charles, Rasheed, Osayande, Bruce, Hugo, Jesse, Miguel, Hakim, Vidal, Charles, Darryl, Michael, Marlon and Halvar; as well as a host of other great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The viewing will be held at 10 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11, at Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
