Carlos Juan Velazquez Sr. Dies at 69

Carlos Juan Velazquez Sr.

Carlos Juan Velazquez Sr., also known as “Carlitos” or “Old Wolf,” of Estate Campo Rico died on Thursday, Oct. 25. He was 69 years old.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Velazquez.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Velazquez Diaz; mother, Genoveba Rivera; daughters: Virna L. Torres Velazquez, Carolyn Velazquez Soto and Nancy E. Velazquez; sons: Andres J. Velazquez, Carlos J. Velazquez Jr. and Francisco J. Velazquez; grandchildren: Sadé E. LaCorbiniere, Karina M. Valazquez, Juan C. Torres Jr., Michael L. Tank, Cynthia A. Lopez, Chole Carranza, Sonia G. Alvarez, Jahrielys A. Velazquez and Dylanis S. Velazquez; and sisters: Bienvenida Lopez, Luz Delia Morales, Norma Blackwood, Sara Tranberg, Maria D. Ovesen, Noemi Benitez, Ana I. Soto and Rosa M. Valazquez.

He is also survived by brothers: Roberto Velazquez, Zoilo Velazquez, Andres Velasquez and Carlos R. Velazquez; nieces and nephews too numerous to mention; sons-in-law: Juan C. Torres and Joe Soto; special friends: Carlos Encarnacion, David Gonzalez and Amado; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

There will be a public viewing from 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, at James Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Estate Carlton. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
