Ivan Goodridge Dies at 80

Ivan Goodridge of Estate Whim died on June 23. He was 80 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Estelita C. Ferdinand-Goodridge; daughters: Janice Goodridge-Forde, Renee Ferdinand, Rita Ferdinand-Dawson and Estelita “Estelle” Ferdinand-Davis; adopted daughter, Doraliza “Tita” Freeman; sons: Ivan Goodridge Jr. and Michael Ferdinand Sr.; brothers: George and Ignatius Goodridge; sister, Inez Hinds; and grandchildren: Chandy “CJ” Jeremiah II, Chaundice “Missy” Pedro, Terry I Forde, Kahleem, Jovante, Khadisa and Jahmoi Goodridge, Tyanne, Akeem, Natasha, Lovlina and Nyiema Davis, Shamall Turnbull, Ellerie Dawson, Renicia, Rhonda and Morris Benjamin, Keisha and Kiana Stapleton, Kaleed, Michael and Kimoi Ferdinand, Saphire, Rolanda, Shameka, Ferdinand and Raymond Davis, and Cathriellah Shabazz-Matthew.

He is also survived by great-grandchildren too numerous to mention; nieces and nephews: Brenda Goodridge, Honorable Denise Hinds-Roach, Nia Roach, Taylor Goodridge, Tyla Anderson, Symone and Syrena Carter, Ray Goodridge, Raymond Hinds, Rowland Hinds, Mitchelle Goodridge, Walter Bryant, Jordan Hinds, Raymond Hinds Jr., Usef Roach, Betia and Chenell Hinds.

Other survivors include sons-in-law: Terry B. Forde and Eldred Dawson; daughters-in-law: Gracelyn Massiah-Goodridge and Sharifah Daniel; sisters-in-law: Laurissa Clarke-Prince, Agnes Meyers-Payne and Theresa Goodridge; godchildren: Alvida Augustin and Shamall Turnbull; cousins: Arita George, the Gordon family, Bobbi Nanton and family, and Dec. Hodge and family; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made payable to Restoration of St. Luke AME Church.

The family will be receiving guests from 4-6 p.m., Friday, July 13, at James Memorial Funeral Home.

The viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 14, at St. Luke AME Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
