A man was shot in the hand early Monday morning in Estate Sion Farm, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The shooting happened at about 1:45 a.m. According to the preliminary report, the victim told police he was at an abandoned home when he saw a red Grand Vitara driven by a man he did not know stop near him.

The victim said the man asked him if he had any drugs for sale. The victim said he did not know what the man was talking about, but then the back seat passenger fired several shots at him; at least one hit him in his hand. The vehicle then drove off.
