Family Turns In 15-Year-Old Burglary Suspect

The family of a 15-year-old St. Croix youth turned him to the Police Department after they saw a photo made public Thursday of a person sought in connection with burglaries at two restaurants on the island’s north shore. Police Department spokesman Melody Rames said Friday. She said the boy was arrested on burglary charges and was in custody.

A photo of the youth was caught on surveillance video inside one of the businesses.

At least two businesses including Coconuts on the Beach and Rhythms at Rainbow Beach were burglarized in April. The photo of the youth was taken inside of one establishment.

Rames had no further information.
