An open houseand report card distribution at Alfredo Andrews Elementary School will follow the school’s Spring Concert slated for 9 a.m.on Friday, April 20, in the school’s auditorium.
“Each grade level will be taking a ‘Trip Through the Islands’ focusing on Jamaica, Antigua/Barbuda, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and Guyana,” said music instructor Barbara Jean Browne. “The students will do a brief introduction, and perform the national anthems and folk songs of their selected Caribbean entity.” Later the school’s recorder ensemble with about 50 performers will entertain parents and guardians.
After lunch the school’s guests will be in for another treat when they participate in “Tasters’ Delight”and sample a variety of Caribbean food and delicacies.
Principal Claxton invites parents and guardians to come out, enjoy the treats and experience the musical talent of students. It’s very important that report cards be picked up to monitor students’ progress.
