Ricardo Richards to Host Chess Tournament

April 8, 2008 – Ricardo Richards Elementary School will host the first annual Spring Chess Tournament at 9 a.m., on Saturday, April 19. The tournament is titled "Bringing Math Alive through Chess" and is open to all public, private and parochial school students from six to under 12 years old, according to a press release from Principal Colleen Williams.
The deadline to register for participation is noon, Wednesday, April 9, at a cost of $5 per student. Students are encouraged to register immediately. Only registered students will be allowed to play on tournament day.
