Sept. 7, 2007 – Seymour Walter of the Barracudas Track Club/St.Croix Educational Complex High School was the first place finisher in the 25th Annual V.I. Pace Runners Labor Day 5K Road Race with a time of 19 minutes and 5 seconds. Jeremy Laurent of the Virgin Islands National Guard was second in 21:18; Mirielle Smith of the St. Croix Track Club was third and the first place female in 23:00. Errol Chichester was the third place male in 24:34; Amanda Wareshine was the second place female in 24:39; Brad Chafee was the fourth place male in 24:46; Will Franks was fifth in 27:03; Rebecca Pelayo was the third place female in 31:57; Jan Steinblarg was sixth in 38:32; Devorath Elecock was the fourth place female in 39:31.
The annual 3.1-mile road race was held on an out-and-back course along the shore toward the Vincent Mason Pool in Frederiksted, and the course started and finished near Ann Abramson Pier. The event brings awareness to prostrate cancer.
