MARLIN DECK MUSIC TO RESUME FRIDAY

Aug. 7, 2001 – The music will be back Friday on the Marlin Deck at American Yacht Harbor, courtesy of the Color of Joy art gallery and gift shop.
The musicians took a break last Friday while AYH was under the influence of the 29th annual USVI Open/Atlantic Blue Marlin Tournament, "but we had wine and cheese anyway," owner Corinne Van Rensselaer said.
This Friday, pianist/vocalist Sally Smith, just back from vacation, will be performing in the company of jazz guitarist Tony Oliver; blues musicians Marty Beechler, Marty Iorio and Jerry Clifford; and any other musicians who drop in for some jammin'. The music is served up along with complimentary wine, cheese and crackers from 6 to 8 p.m. — with the gallery open for business.
The lively sounds of recent summer sessions have been attracting a mellow crowd, Van Rensselaer says. "This a great occasion to meet with friends and hang out on the deck overlooking the water. With many restaurants in the area for dinner, it can be part of a perfect evening!" And for those commuting home to St. John from St. Thomas, it's a convenient stop that's just a few minutes away from the Red Hook ferry dock.
