St. Thomas police continued a manhunt Thursday afternoon for the person who held up the Bolongo Bay Dive Shop about 2 p.m., fleeing with two others in a black late-model Toyota Corolla hatchback.
According to reports from police and others, a woman armed with a small handgun stormed the establishment and demanded money. Police spokeswoman Sgt. Annette Raimer said Thursday evening that about $120 in cash was stolen. There were no reported injuries.
Almost immediately after the robbery, police began looking for three females in a late model Toyota sedan seen speeding away toward the downtown area.
Police officials could not confirm whether the other two women, who may have acted as lookouts during the robbery, were suspects in the robbery. The dive shop is heavily frequented by visitors.
Raimer described the suspect as a black female with "crooked teeth" and wearing a good deal of jewelry.
Police asked anyone with information to call VIPD investigators at 774-4050, the confidential crime line at 777-8711 or the emergency number 911.
