GROUP EXPLORING AIR SERVICE TO SAN JUAN

Another stateside group is exploring a commuter airline service between San Juan and St. Thomas and St. Croix.
The Chicago-based group, called Air 19 Capital Corp., has been meeting with V.I. business people and government officials in recent weeks to determine interest, need and potential participation.
Omer ErSelcuk, president of Air 19, confirmed that the venture is being considered but declined to disclose any information about plans, staff, management or timetable.
He did say some of his group's members have experience in international and commuter airlines while others have financial backgrounds outside the aviation industry.
Air 19 reportedly wants to begin service this fall when United Airlines starts flying into St. Thomas so it could offer connecting flights for United flights to and from San Juan.
