Four-year-old Melanie Terra Ferguson was found Thursday morning, apparently unharmed, and was taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital to be checked out, the V.I. Police Department reported.
Details of the search and how Melanie was found were not immediately available.
Melanie apparently wandered away from her home in Estate Grove Place home at about 10 a.m. Wednesday in the company of her two brown Chihuahua dogs. She was reported missing to the police shortly after noon, but police were unable to locate her by nighttime. The dogs also did not return.
Police organized a search that was to begin at 6 a.m. Thursday.
Liz Goggins of St. Croix Rescue posted to the group’s Facebook page early Thursday that Melanie had been found. A call to Rames confirmed the news.
