U.S. MARSHALS ASK FOR HELP IN FINDING FUGITIVE

The U.S. Marshals Service has appealed to the community for assistance in apprehending fugitive Lucinda Jane Oliver.
According to Deputy U.S. Marshal Linda Valerino, Oliver is wanted for bribing a local housing official in order to fraudulently secure Federal Emergency Management Agency funds for herself.
"Oliver, who goes by the name Cindy Oliver or Lucinda McGinnis, is wanted on three bribery counts concerning programs receiving federal funds, conspiracy charges and illegal weapons possession," Valerino said.
Speaking on WSVI Channel 8's "V.I. Most Wanted" program Tuesday night, Valerino described Oliver as a 55-year-old Caucasian female, 5-feet 3-inches tall, brown hair and medium build. She weighs about 115 pounds. A native of Indiana, Oliver lived on St. Croix for at least 10 years and is believed to have left the island in 1998, Valerino said.
The U.S. Marshals Service is assisting the FBI in tracking down Oliver.
"Persons knowing the whereabouts of Lucinda Oliver should contact the U.S. Marshals' Tip Line at 773-5393," Valerino said, adding that reward money of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to Oliver's apprehension.
