The family of Winona L. Phaire, age 101, is saddened to announce her passing on June 7, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winthrop Phaire and Eulalie Fabio Phaire; and sisters, Beulah Lang, Hyacinth Fabio, and Mavis Lang.
She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Cintron; cousins, Beatrice Erskine, Lydia Fabio-Welt, Gerraine Lowell, and Cheryl McIntosh; nieces, Averil Christine Thomas, Julia Green, Francine Lang, Anya Encarnacion, Linda Camacho, Arlene Lang, Rhona Martinez, Margaret Lang-Williams, M.D., Petra Pineiro, and Carmen Cintron, D.O.; nephews, Herman Patterson, Justin Hector Cintron, and Luis Cintron; great-nieces and great-nephews too numerous to mention; godchildren, Wendy Martell-Scalzo, Jay and Orville O’Reilly; special friends, Marion Jones, Edna Mae Belardo, Julie Hodge, Lucy and Lisa Rose Bough, Cheryl King, Amerita Vega, Angie Esquerdo, Horst Cerni, Janise Bølling-James, Chesley Roebuck, Joyce Rohlsen, and Chainie Lang-Brannigan; and special caregivers, Dian Knight, Patricia Gabino, Anne-Lise Walters Peet, and Lenecia Fregiste; extended family includes the Phaire, Fabio, Cartier, Petersen, Cancryn, Schuster, Schjang, Morales, Pedersen, Burr, Golden, Winkfield, Butcher, Henderson, and Bourelly families.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at Lord God of Saboath Evangelical Lutheran Church, #4 King Street, Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
The wearing of yellow or light/pastel colors would be appreciated.
Interment of cremains will follow at the Christiansted Cemetery.
